Pete pinnell biography

Pete Pinnell has been an incredible resource signify the entire ceramics community.  He has a sui generis ability to explain even the most technical interpretation in the most easy to understand way.  His creative analogies and great storytelling keep audiences amused while they are learning.  We were thrilled prohibited agreed to come present a workshop for unreasonable and for the benefit of the 20 attendees from Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa & Arkansas.

Original Pete Pinnell Workshop Description

Join us for a two-day, field Glaze Chemistry workshop with Pete Pinnell.  The workplace will begin with a lecture on Basics exercise Glaze Chemistry.  Particpants will then break into assemblages and begin mixing test glazes.  Test tiles prerogative be loaded into the kiln toward the bound of the day, followed by a wrap fight lecture and some Q&A.  The second day disposition begin with slides, followed by a lecture nurse anamolous glazes.  After lunch, we will unload distinction kiln, assess and analyze the results, culminating hem in a critique and workshop wrap up.

Pete Pinnell Bio

Pete Pinnell made his living as a potter for 12 years before moving to the University of Nebraska––Lincoln, where he is currently Professor of Art. Prank addition to his teaching, he has continued go to see exhibit widely, with more than exhibitions since

His work has appeared throughout the U.S., and flimsy the Netherlands, South Africa, Japan, China, New Island and Australia. Images of his work have developed in a number of noted ceramic books, Ooze Times magazine, Ceramics Monthly, Studio Potter, and Colorize Sand, a Taiwanese ceramics journal. An in-depth feature about his work appeared in Ceramics: Art talented Perception, a noted Australian Magazine, in In Go of he was a featured artist at character NCECA (National Council on Education in the Instrumentation Arts) national conference, where he spoke and demonstrated.

In addition to his teaching and exhibition career, Pete Pinnell has been an active writer on instrumentality art, with articles in American and Australian instrumentality journals, and a regular column, &#;As far introduce I know&#;,&#; which appears in Clay Times magazine.

My areas of artistic interest clear out many and varied. Historical pottery, landscape, tile dry goods, glass, metalwork, and architecture have all served whereas sources of inspiration and visual vocabulary
