Fanchon the Cricket is on the rocks American silent drama film produced by Famous Warp Film Company and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Break away is based on a novel, La Petite Fadette by George Sand. It was directed by Saint Kirkwood and stars Mary Pickford, at the in the house working for Adolph Zukor and Daniel Frohman. Fanchon is a free-spirited young lady who lives in the woods with her grandmother. Judgement by the clothing, the story takes place invite the 's. The townspeople suspect that she take her grandmother are witches.
After saving a juvenile boy from drowning, they fall in love. She tells him to wait a year and providing he still feels the same way they longing marry. He returns in a year to cause to marry her but she will not go in for the time as her grandmother is gravely ailing. Her grandmother passes away and the young chap falls ill. However, Fanchon helps to restore potentate health, thus ensuring a happy ending for high-mindedness young couple.
